The Origin of Virus
What are worms and viruses?
• Computer viruses and worms via emails has been going on since the beginning of the use of emails.
• As time is going on worms and viruses are growing in numbers.
• These viruses are worms are becoming more and more destructive as time goes on.
• Email worms can put your address as the sender of infected emails, making it look like you are sending spam and viruses even though you are not.
• They can infiltrate your system, sending out infected emails from your computer.
• The more malicious viruses can erase your hard drive or completely disable your computer systems.
• Some may install software on your system that allows others to access, steal, and change your computer files.
Security Alerts
• Security softwares such as McAfree Security and Symantec Security Alert scans emails to help prevent the viruses.
• These security alerts are not always able to catch the viruses due to software errors.
• The software company has to send updates frequently known as patches.
Solutions
• The only total solution really is to stop using emails and internet.
• As that is not possible we have to just trust out security softwares and update our software as regularly as possible.
• Check the virus before you download files or before you open the files.

• Microsoft's Windows Update center - checks the software on your Windows computer then gives you a chance to download critical updates.
• Norton Internet Security - includes a firewall, virus protection, and other Internet security functions.
• McAfee pcsecuritysuite - protects your computer against viruses, hackers, and identity thieves.
• VirusBarrier Express - allows to check only one file by dragging it or full scan to find the virus then it makes a list of trusted files.
